Una amiga mía encontró este libro por casualidad mientras buscábamos por las estanterías  de la librería, tras leer la sinopsis donde pude ver que se trataba del Titanic  y ver la preciosa portada, no dudé en que quería leerme esta novela.

Aguas oscuras nos presenta a Tess, nuestra protagonista, quien trabaja para la familia Lisle como criada de la joven Irene, la hija mediana de la familia, a la cual tiene que ayudar a vestirse y ocuparse de ella en todo momento, y a parte, cumplir todas las órdenes y exigencias de Lady Regina, quien cómo no, solo se preocupa por el dinero y la imagen.

Al embarcarse en el Titanic, Tess tiene sus ideas claras. Tras llegar a Nueva York quiere dejar a la familia y vivir alejada de ellos, vivir una vida nueva.

Pero todo cambia cuando conoce al joven y encantador Alec. Quien a pesar de su apariencia, guarda un secreto que le cambiara la vida a nuestra protagonista.

Los personajes son bastante realistas, como Irene, quien a pesar de su posición social y de su mucho dinero, no duda en ayudar a Tess, además de ser una amiga a parte de solo tratarla como a su sirvienta.

Lady Regina, se nos presenta como aquellas señoras de alto prestigio quienes harán cualquier cosa para subir en su escala social.

Alec, ¿Qué decir sobre él? Se preocupa de Tess a pesar de solo haberla conocido recientemente, protector, sincero y dulce.

“–Si la hermandad puede controlarme tanto como asegura podría ordenarme que te matara, y lo haría.”

También tenemos al padre de Alec, quien no se preocupa por lo que es su hijo, lo ama de todas formas y hará lo necesario para mantenerlo a salvo de la ‘Hermandad’, además de apoyar totalmente a su hijo en cualquier decisión que tome.

Pero como cada historia no puede faltar el malo malísimo, y en esta historia nos encontramos con Mijail, un tipo que pertenece a la ‘Hermandad’ y que además de querer algo de Alec, también necesita algo de Tess.

Aguas oscuras es una novela ligera, que me atrapado de principio a fin, sin pausas y con cada vez más ganas de saber que les pasara a cada uno de los personajes. Como es normal todos sabemos como acaba el Titanic, hundido en el fondo del Atlántico. A pesar de que tenía miedo de encariñarme con los personajes (porque sinceramente no sabía quién iba a sobrevivir) lo hice. Se ha notado que Claudia Gray se ha documentado sobre el hundimiento y eso es algo que me ha gustado bastante.

Es bastante original, con unos escenarios muy bien construidos y con un final realmente sorprendente. Sinceramente durante todo el hundimiento del Titanic estaba en estado de tensión.
